This is set during the time of Iron Man Vol. 3 about issue 50. This starts out with Stark technology and pieces of his armors being used by paid agitators claiming Tony to be a fascist and attacking his company with pieces of Iron Man armor such as chest beams. Iron Man defeats them and finds they were hired by Eaglestar corporation hired by Americans for Energy Awareness. Tony finds the actual money is coming from oil lobbyists that want to shut down his Arc reactor technology and stop Stark Enterprises. In a press conference, Tony is shown footage of actual complete Iron Man model 1 armors killing 44 people in Transia and starting a Civil War there, then then Iron Men attack the U.N. guest houses. Iron Man sends a huge Hulkbuster type armor to Transia to stop the Iron Men. They declare war on Iron Man. We get a reprint copy of TOS 39 as a back up feature. Despite the U.S. government wanting him to stay out of it sends Stark Industries (notice the inconsistent company name change) employees to jail. Tony believes it is his responsibility to stop the use of his armor and technology being used for violence. We see another armor - a Subterranean armor. Iron Man rescues hostages. Then he recognizes more of his weapons' patentees as he is blown up by one and captured reminding him of his origin. Another inventor, a lady is trying to survive by making the armors from an inside source that is sending the blueprints to the Iron Men. Tony escapes with her help in a remade model 1 suit and Dreadknight attacks. A mine in the war torn country helps Iron Man escape with the winged horse. He uncovers an old enemy to be behind the scenes manipulating things. Dr. Doom plays a role in this. Iron Man rigs the stolen lance and attacks Dr. Doom's operations. The Model XXIII, mark 1 says is beamed down from a Stark satellite to a barn, although it looks like the XXIII, Hero Returns armor. The disruption of the oil pipeline also gets China involved and Radioactive Man attacks the Eaglestar mercenaries and kills. Iron Man thanks for the help but cannot contend with murder and they fight. Russia sends their champions in Titanium Man and Crimson Dynamo. Iron Man combats all three on camera to lead Dr. Doom out. Dr. Doom sends his Iron Men Doombots in to invade Transia and announces it at the United Nations. The Radioactive Man, Iron Man, Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man all try and fight thsi invading army. Tony ask Titanium Man to shoot. But, he says he is not Bullski of old, but Corporal Gennedy Ovinniki. These armors are remotely controlled by the Kremlin. Russia cuts off the feed leaving them on their own. Radioactive Man plans an E.M.P. while Iron Man removes Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man. Chen takes out most but not all the Iron Men Doombots. The rest take out Chen and Tony throws the Russians back toward their home country. Iron Man faces Dr. Doom accusing him of stealing from Stark Enterprises (name change again). Dr. Doom denies this and sends rest to bring down Iron Man. Then, the lady, Dragana, that helped Stark escape shows up in a symbolic suit of armor that both people of the Civil war can believe in Svarog. Iron Man triggers a killswitch and the Doombots with stolen Iron Man tech begin to fail. The Doombots are all offline, Dr. Doom moves on. HIs plan to take Wundagore Mountain is done. Iron Man confronts a worker and realizes he was the inside person to Doom and has him taken away while his employees are all released from prison. We see Tony at the end of the arc to be making an Iron Legion.
The next story arc goes back to a time when Tony Stark lost his company to Obadiah Stane. He was homeless in Los Angeles and the people of the neighborhood helped Tony Stark. The Illuminati discuss Tony's troubles and comes to the conclusion that Tony must faces these problems alone and if so will come out stronger than ever. Tony is homeless and goes to Stane and asks for his golf clubs that his father gave him. It actually has an early red/gold basic armor inside with the horn head, a model II armor. Tony uses the armor to help a friend being attacked by the Hangman. He takes an ID and takes his friend to a place called the Imperio, a seeming halfway house. But, the neighborhood is protected by a group of Villains, called the Pride in Los Angeles. The Pride contracts the Serpent Society to get rid of Tony Stark. Stark sees an abandoned manufacturing plant and gets an idea to get back his finances. He borrows a hundred dollars and heads to the junk yard when he is attacked. A junkyard becomes new Iron Man weapons and thwarts the Serpent Society. Tony makes an automated pillbox as a prototype to help people and restore his fortune. Suddenly all investors are being criminally discouraged. Tony calls for a community opportunity for everyone to invest $20 and then criminals attack and scare people off, then Iron Man, the classic suit arrives to talk. It is Rhodey in the armor. Imperio Techworks has no money and Rhodey offers help. Tony wants to do it on his own but Rhodey goes for help. And, Reed sends a robot with a check to start the funding. Tony goes to get a lease for the old Imperio Dieworks and is told he is not to get it. Then, Tony takes the community to the building, and they start the process of manufacturing. Rhodey saves Tokyo from giant creatures from the microverse and offers them to buy the product Tony is selling. Then, Tamara gets the community to agree to work for a week until the orders come in. Tony starts things up. The LA police show up as does the press, they have thirty hours to leave. The mayor backs down the Pride because of the press and voters potentially looking bad. The Pride takes things hands on. Tyree forgets his meds and is captured along with his sister. The Pride calls out Tony Stark. Iron Man shows up and fights a dinosaur controlled by the Pride. A mystical rite in taking Iron Man, but then the Illuminati show up led by Dr. Strange. Dr. Strange begins to attack mystically. Mr. Fantastic, Namor, Black Bolt, and Professor X all come to help and counter those in the Gibborim's hold. They win. Tony leaves a message, he will leave L.A. and the Pride will leave Imperio Techworks alone. If not, Tony calls the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and the Inhumans to wipe them out. The take his deal and move on. Tony leaves Tamara as CEO, profits roll in, and Tyree is without his meds but happy in the streets at the junkyard. Iron Man gives a visit and put the patent in his name in a trust run by his sister. Iron Man offers his best.
